Vienna – Austria

We visited Vienna for 4 days. Vienna is a culturally rich city in the heart of Austria. The city has a lot to offer, such as Belvedere Palace, Schönbrunn Palace and even more. Read more about our trip below.

We like the city of Vienna really much and we think that it obviously has the best coffee to offer.

In Vienna it is easy to get around with public transport. Aspecially the underground lines depart every few minutes. The city offers differnt day-passes for 24/48/72h. Instead of buying a 72h ticket, rather buy a week-pass. The price is the same but you can use it longer. Arrived in Vienna, we first went to the famous food market called „Naschmarkt“. There you can try and buy all varieties of different fruits, spices, sweets, sausages and more. The prices are quiet high but at least the fruit quality is worth the price. There are also many restaurants at the market where you can eat outside or underneath a tent that looked quiet cosy.

Schönbrunn was also on our sightseeing-list. It has a lot to offer besides Schönbrunn Palace. You can also visit the Palm House, Desert House, a zoo and of course the palace garden. In Palm House and Desert House you can see different exotical plants and animals and in the zoo cntains nearly every animal from rabbit to icebear. You can either buy a seperate ticket for each attraction or buy a combi-ticket for 26€. When the weather is good and with kids these options are very recommendable. Schönbrunn Palace is also very worth seeing. It is such a magic great place. If you visit it in summer you can also enjoy the beautiful gardens. There are several different ticket options. A reduced ticket that only allows you to see half of the rooms, a normal ticket for all rooms and some combi-tickets that contain the entry to some ther attractions. We bought the reduced Imperial Ticket for 14,6€ (13,6€ for students). We also visited Stephans’ Cathedral and the Opera House (only from the outside). The cathedral is very…and entry is also free, so it is definitely worth a visit. The city center of Vienna is also well suited for shopping tours or just to stroll around.
